Video Tutorial

1. Drawing Object Filter

To allow users to keep the Indicator activated and still work with Horizontal Lines and Trendlines in other ways, the indicator provides user inputs to specify which drawing objects will be adopted by it.

These two inputs are “Color Filter” and “Style Filter”.

There are three ways to adopt drawing objects in the indicator.

  1. Either the filters are equal to the user’s default Color & Style. In this case, any new drawn object is adopted immediately.

  2. The second option is to take any object on the chart and change its format, so it fits the two input filters. This drawing object will be adopted on the next click after making its format fit the filters.

  3. Filters are turned off and every object is adopted.

2. Syncing Lines

  • A Group enables to control, which lines to replicate to which Chart.

  • The name of the group is freely definable. It could, for example, be “Apple Longterm”.

  • You can use the placeholder @sym (case-sensitive) to dynamically include the ticker symbol in the group name. “My@symSpecial” will result in the group name “MyAAPLSpecial”.

  • If the input is set to “auto” or “”, then the Group is the Symbol itself. This can be used, if no individual grouping is required.

Hold ALT and click on lines to
open the
Edit Prices dialog.

Fibonacci Retracements dialog.

For new Fibonacci Retracements, the pop-up opens with the first Preset as the default settings.

For existing Fibonacci Retracements, the settings of the Fibonacci Lines are displayed.

The lines can be activated/deactivated and configured with the desired percentage and style.

The Fibonacci Retracements are synchronized across different charts following the same logic as the Horizontal- and Trendlines.

Often used settings can be saved as a Preset. Simply give it a name and press the Save button.

The tab Presets can be used to manage the Presets.

The sort key enables a custom sort order in which the Presets appear in the dropdown box. The first one is the default setting for new Fibonacci Retracements.

Custome Presets can be deleted by pressing the Delete button.

4. Grouping

  • Shortcut_Delete, Shortcut_Edit Prices and Shortcut_Fibonacci

  • The indicator must be restarted after the XML file has been changed.

  • You can restore the default Settings.xml by deleting it and restart the indicator.

The lines are saved in XML format on your PC and can, therefore, be restored whenever needed.

That also enables to import the lines into other TradeStation installations.
